This Ocean County based award-winning men's accappella chorus welcomes men of good character who can stay on pitch and like to sing. Members are not required to read music, and need not have prior chorus experience. All music is learned using pre-recorded instructional CDs provided by the chorus. Members meet to learn about different types of needlework. Several projects are planned each year that members may choose to work on. Island Singers Community Chorus Rehearsals

Island Singers Community Chorus
The southern Ocean County Community Chorus has been performing in local venues from Lakewood to Tuckerton since 1972. The non-profit, volunteer group has developed and matured into a quality community chorus whose Concerts are FREE and held in local libraries, museums, restaurants and other venues like The Surflight Theater and the Stafford Center for the Performing Arts. The chorus also makes several annual, pro-bono appearances. Rehearsals are held every Tuesday night beginning in January. New Jersey. Anyone with a pleasant voice and a desire to learn the music is welcome to join. No auditions are necessary. The name Island Singers was chosen because the group rehearses on Long Beach Island. However, chorus members come from the entire southern Ocean County area.

Join boat builder Ron Spodofora and other boat building staff for a one day hands-on workshop in Perrine’s Boatworks. This class is designed for beginners and boat builders unfamiliar with regional Barnegat Bay boat building methods. It is an introduction to traditional Barnegat Bay boat building tools and techniques, hand and power tools, shop safety and various boat designs of the region. Participants will work with Tuckerton builder Ron Spodofora on one of the traditional boats being built in Perrine’s Boat works. Bring lunch and safety goggles.
